Growing up in Virginia I was always able to play outside whenever I wanted to but I also always wanted to live in FL. I started riding bikes when I was a little girl, but never took it to any type of extreme until I moved to FL in 1998. After going to East Carolina for two years of crazy Pirate Parties, I ended up transferring to FAU and graduating with BA in Arts and Humanities in 2001. After taking a few months to relax I went back to Nova Southeastern University and graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration in 2003. Then I came across this crazy group of mountain bikers. I also came across a really nice bike ;) and I was hooked. I was lucky enough to get to experience a lot of Urban Assaults and also to get to ride a lot of trails at the parks in the area and throughout FL. I really enjoy the whole experience of doing Urban rides and wanted to be able to share that with other people who otherwise may not have ever tried it!~ It is not only a great way to exercise, but it is such a totally different way to hang out, meet new people, and really tour the city where you live. It is a great environment because there is just so much energy – people are literally stoked to be going on a group ride through the city, it is very empowering to be on your bike and not have to deal with the everyday frustrations of driving, or the slow pace of walking! It brings a cool group of individuals together that have something healthy and fun in common and through the bonds you make while you ride, you can actually come out with some really great friends, or at least a super unique hobby that gives you a real sense of confidence and accomplishment.
